Throw Away That Redbull

There has been quite a bit of talk about energy drinks lately and how they provide you with that burst of energy quicker than coffee, but when comparing the two drinks it is important to take into consideration how vastly different they are.

Although they both provide you with an energy boost, this is done in very different ways, with the main difference between a steaming cup of coffee and an energy drink like Redbull lying in the caffeine levels.

It is surprising, but you actually receive up to double the amount of caffeine in a smaller sized energy drink than you would in a large mug of coffee.

As we spoke about recently, caffeine in moderation can offer numerous health benefits, but when you are taking it in high doses as with energy drinks, you are basically throwing these benefits out the window and possibly even doing damage to your health.

Besides the health issues, there is also the very important enjoyment factor that you want to take into consideration here.

While with an energy drink your purpose is mainly to chug it back so you can get that jolt of energy, coffee is much different and there is nothing like sitting back and relaxing with a warm cup of coffee, whether in the morning, at night, or during the work day.

Energy drinks may be one of the latest fads, but the bottom line is that coffee wins by comparison, hands down.
