Steam Milk Without an Espresso Machine

Whether you love steamed milk in your hot chocolate, green tea, café au lait or other delicious beverage, the process is quick and very easy to do.

There are a few different ways to go about this. You can follow in Jamie Oliver's footsteps and pour hot milk into a plastic quart milk jug, cap it, and then shake it like crazy. Or perhaps you would rather heat the milk in a double broiler and just live without the foam.

These are great tips, but if you want to see it firsthand, check out this step by step video.

The bottom line is that in reality, you are never going to get the same great results steaming milk by hand as you would with a machine, but when you have to live without, these tips will help you get by.
