Proper Coffee Storage

There are many common misconceptions when it comes to how coffee should be stored.

Proper coffee storage is important if you want the freshest cup of coffee each and every time, and there are a few tips for storing coffee beans and ground coffee that have been proven, and which you will want to be aware.

One of the best containers you can use for storing coffee is an airtight ceramic canister. You should avoid plastic and metal containers because these can affect the taste of your coffee.

Whether or not to freeze coffee is a commonly asked question, and although it can work, this is generally something that you want to stay away from, for a couple of reasons.

For one, if you freeze your coffee, water molecules will attach to it and after you take the coffee out to use and the water melts, it will deteriorate the taste of it as a result.

The same rule applies to storing coffee in the refrigerator, and so for proper storage of your coffee you will want to keep it at room temperature.

Proper storage is integral to maintaining your coffee's freshness and flavor, and these tips will help you get the closest thing to your favorite café's cup of coffee.
