Choosing a Coffee Roaster

There are so many different coffee roasters on the shelves today, it is really no surprise that so many people are confused and even frustrated over the decision of choosing a single one.

Coffee roasters are a great way to get the fresh tasting coffee that you all love, and allows you to get that delicious cup of coffee or latte right in the comfort of your own home, rather than having to head out to the local café every day.

Each of these different coffee roasters offers its own functions and features, and you want to think carefully, to ensure that you choose the right roaster for you and your needs.

They are available in a variety of sizes and shapes, and regardless of which you opt for, just make sure that when you buy your coffee roaster you buy it with the intention to use it every day.

Of the multitude of choices available today, here are a few of my favorites.

Caffe Rosto Coffee Roaster

This is a fantastic, straightforward and well-built coffee roaster that offers all the features and integrity you are looking for in such an appliance.

It features a slow-roast design that recirculates part of the hot air steam back into the roast chamber, and what this does is it allows the machine to roast a larger batch, the resulting cup profile having improved body.

You can view the roast through the tempered glass top, the roast chamber itself made of a stainless steel.

As well, the heat cycle is thermostatically controlled to offer consistent roasting independant of environmental variables, meaning you always get that perfect cup of coffee, each and every time.

Check out Sweet Marias for more information or to purchase one for your own home.

Fresh Roast Plus 8 Home Coffee Roaster

Another of my favorites is the Fresh Roast Plus 8 Home Coffee Roaster, which comes with a metal and bakelite base. The glass roasting chamber also has an improved cast aluminum ring.

The Fresh Roast Plus 8 can roast approximately 3 ounces of coffee beans at one time, or 14 cups of coffee.

This is a great little appliance that enables you to enjoy the freshest tasting coffee right at home, and features a new 8 minute timer as well as a lower roasting temperature for slower, more controlled roasts.

You can grab one of these fab coffee roasters for yourself from Birds and Beans for under $100.

i-Roast 2 Coffee Roaster

Available through Green Beanery, the i-Roast 2 Coffee Roaster is another great option, and definitely one of my top picks.

With it you have the option of setting up roasting curves, or using preset roasting curves, keeping in mind that at each roasting stage, temperature is accurately controlled.

Also featured on this coffee roaster is a glass roasting chamber which allows for clear visability, double filtration chaff collection that also disassembles for easy cleaning, and a built-in 4 minute cooling cycle.

Any of these coffee roasters would make a great addition to your kitchen appliance collection and allow you to create that perfectly brewed cup of coffee each and every time.
