Black Medicine?

coffee_medicine.jpgSo many studies, so many opinions. The latest barrage of studies recently released appear to indicate that your coffee habit is not likely to cut your life short. In fact, drinking upwards of 6 cups of coffee daily could actually extend your life.

“Our results suggest that long-term, regular coffee consumption has several beneficial health effects,” says Esther Lopez-Garcia, lead author of the Harvard School of Public Health report.
Here is where things get a little murky. It's not the caffeine that gives you the potential health benefits, but rather other qualities within the coffee bean. In an ideal world, you should probably be drinking decaf so you can get the health benefits without all of that caffeine. Mind you, if you ditch the caffeine your productivity could suffer which in turn could add stress to your life, which could cut your life shorter thus negating the health benefits of drinking coffee. Ok, I give up. Just drink, baby!
